Privacy Policy

Effective Date:

October 1, 2020

This Privacy Policy describes how Explore It Studios (www.exploreitstudios.com) and its affiliates (collectively, “Explore It Studios,” “we,” “us,” “our”) collects, uses, shares, and protects the personal information of our visitors (“you”), regardless of where you live. By using www.exploreitstudios.com (“website,” “site,”) you agree to our Privacy Policy. In the event that we update our Privacy Policy, we will update the Effective Date at the top of this page. From that date forward, the updated policy will be in effect.

You can choose to use the site without providing any information about yourself to us directly. But, as described below, some information may be collected automatically or be requested by us, so you can take advantage of certain features on the site.

What Personal Data We Collect and Why We Collect It

Website Analytics and Advertising

We use analytics and advertising tools (such as Google Analytics and Google Ads) to better understand you and our other customers. As part of that, we may collect personal data (such as but not limited to gender, age, location, mobile device ID, mobile device make and model, IP address, and browser type) that we use to operate a better business. That includes things like focusing our marketing efforts, improving our web design, evaluating our effectiveness, and more. Please note that in order to operate our business, and collect this information, we do not respond to Do Not Track requests.

Comments

If you leave comments on the site, we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Contact Forms

We may collect and store your personal data (including but not limited to your first and lat name, email address, phone number, and organization) via our contact forms using a third-party email client (such as Mailchimp) to allow us to contact you and provide you with the best service.

Contests

If you enter a contest, promotion, or sweepstakes, we may collect personal information from you upon submission. That information may be used to conduct business and may be shared with our sponsors, third-party providers and/or partners. We are not responsible for any use of your information by our sponsors, providers, or partners.

Cookies

If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

If you have an account and you log in to this site, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me,” your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.

If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.

Embedded Content From Other Websites

Pages on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website. We are not responsible for that data.

Media

If you upload images to our website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Social Media Integration

We may partner with third parties (including but not limited to social media sites like Facebook, LinkedIn, and more) to further enhance our marketing capabilities. Those third-parties may use cookies, web beacons, and other storage means to collect or receive information from you and your browsing history, and use that information to provide measurement services and targeted ads.

When We Share Your Data

We may share your information with third parties who help us operate our website, conduct business, or help service you. We may also share your information in response to subpoenas, warrants, court orders, or to comply with the law, enforce our site policies, or protect ours or others’ rights, property, or safety. And, in the event of a proposed or completed sale, we may divulge your information during those proceedings.

How Long We Retain Your Data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

If you register on our website, we also store the personal information you provide in your user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

What Rights You Have Over Your Data

Subject to applicable law, you may have certain rights to access, review, update, delete and/or correct inaccuracies in your personal information in our custody and control by emailing or writing to us .  We may request certain personal information for the purposes of verifying the identity of the individual seeking access to his/her personal information records. If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

While we may use the data we collect to operate a better business and serve our customers in the most effective way, we understand your data is personal. If you don’t want us to store your data, you can email general @ explore it studios.com.

How We Protect Your Data

We value your trust in providing us your information, and we’re striving to use commercially acceptable means of protecting it from accidental, unlawful or unauthorized destruction, loss, alteration, access, disclosure or use. But remember that no method of transmission over the internet, or method of electronic storage is 100% secure and reliable, and we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

California Privacy Policy

If you are a California resident, this California Privacy Policy addendum contains disclosures required by the California Consumer Privacy Act (“CCPA”) and applies only to California residents. CCPA may apply to us and this addendum should be read in conjunction with our normal Privacy Policy as laid out prior to this section.

Right to Opt-Out of the “Sale” of Data

California residents may opt-out of the “sale” of their personal data. As mentioned previously, the data we collect helps us operate our business—not spy on you. But in the act of operating our business, we work with third-party tools and businesses (such as Google Analytics or other tools), and the back-and-forth transfer of your data could be seen as a “sale.” While we don’t think of it or treat it that way, you can exercise your rights to opt out of such a “sale” by emailing us at general @ explore it studios.com.

Upon receiving your opt-out request, we reserve the right to verify your California residence and process your request accordingly. In order to comply with your request, we may collect further information from you (including but not limited to a proper form of government identification) that may or may not have been previously collected.
